OISY Wallet switches to Internet Identity 2.0

This page is the first access point for users who want to find more information about OISY's switch from using Internet Identity 1.0 to using Internet Identity 2.0 for the login or sign-up process.

Summary

OISY switches its login process from using Internet Identity 1.0 to Internet Identity 2.0. Until January 26, 2026, OISY will also support the login through the 1.0 flow, so you don't have act right away.

To use the new 2.0 login, you have to upgrade your Identity (= the "account" you created on Internet Identity 1.0). This upgrade is very quick and requires just a few clicks. The new login page will guide you through this flow. Further down on the page, there is a Step by Step guide to upgrade your Identity.

How do I know if I have to upgrade my Identity?

If you use a number (typically 7 digits) to start your login process, you have to upgrade your account.

Do I have to upgrade my existing Identity?

Yes. The legacy login portal (Internet Identity 1.0) has been sunsetted on January 29, 2026, and users must upgrade their Identity to log in date, you need to upgrade your Identity as part of the login process, if you haven't done so yet.

How do I upgrade my existing account

Click the main login button ("Open or Create") on the landing page, select the "Upgrade your identity" option in the header of the login form, and follow the guided upgrade flow.

You can find a detailed guide further down on this page: Step by Step guide to upgrade your Identity

I upgraded my account, but somehow don't see my assets anymore

If you upgraded one (or more) Identities, and somehow don't see your tokens in your wallet anymore after the login, you can

  • check first that you see the right Identity name on top right of the login form before you click continue.

  • Secondly, you can select the option "Use another identity" in the selector on top right, and select the passkey again that you created when upgrading your Identity. The (user-)name of the passkey usually is the identity name you entered during the upgrade. Please ensure that you also use the right tool for the passkey selection. You might see a tool like 1Password first, then after closing this popup you might see your Apple or Chrome passkey store.

  • If that all failed, you can always go through the upgrade steps again. So use the upgrade feature, enter your old anchor number, select the passkey for that, and name this Identity now with a new Name. This identity should then also be selected and you can log in again.

If that all failed, you can always consult the Internet Identity Help Centerarrow-up-right and file a support ticket on the bottom area of the page.

I have additional questions about Internet Identity

The following resources provide additional information about Internet Identity and the upgrade to version 2.0

Step by Step guide to upgrade your Identity

Step 1 - Start a normal login

As first step, you can simply start your normal login process in OISY, by clicking the main button to log in.

Step 2 - Now you see the new Internet Identity 2.0 Login

You can now see the new login form for Internet Identity 2.0. To now upgrade your Identity, you can click the "Upgrade your identity" button in the upper area. This starts the upgrade process.

If you already upgraded an identity, or collapsed the upgrade section on top by clicking the (X) inside of it, you might see a smaller version of it. You can simply click the left side of it to expand the section again, or click the right side ("upgrade") to start the upgrade process.

Step 3 - Enter your legacy Identity number and sign in

Next step is to enter the Identity number you previously used to log in. If you don't know your number out of your head, you might also find it on the legacy Internet Identity 1.0 portalarrow-up-right. When entered, click "Continue".

Once entered, you should see the same passkey confirmation popup you also see when you log in through the legacy login. This now confirms that you are authorized to change this Identity.

Step 4 - Name your Identity and save the new passkey

Now you can give your Identity a name. Unlike Internet Identity 1.0, where you distinguished between Identities by a different number, you can now give your Identity a name. This name will later be shown on all Internet Identity 2.0 related screens, and the new passkey will also contain this name when it's stored.

Note that you can't rename the Identity once it's set.

This now triggers the creation of a new passkey in your preferred passkey store. Note that you now also see the Identity name, in my case "Private Account", being stored with the passkey. This helps you later to know what Identity this passkey is used for.

Step 5 - You are all set

After saving your new passkey, you see a confirmation screen, and you get automatically redirected back to OISY after 5 seconds.

Step 6 - Verify your Recovery Phrase if you have one set

We also recommend to verify your recovery phrase, in case you have one set. You can do that directly on the Internet Identity 2.0 portal:

  • Go to the Internet Identity 2.0 portal at https://id.aiarrow-up-right

  • Open the user menu dropdown on top right, select your Identity or select "Manage Identity"

  • Go to Access and recovery page

  • Click "Verify"
